The 2’s classes contain no more than nine children each day; each 3’s class contains 12-14 children; each pre-kindergarten class contains 16 children. The number of children enrolled in the after school kindergarten enrichment program is determined yearly.

Weston Wing is dedicated to the emotional, social, physical, and intellectual growth of children. The teachers appreciate each child as an individual with a unique personality, learning style, and potential. They understand that a positive self-image is essential for learning and for successful social interaction. Their responsibility is to provide a developmentally based curriculum coupled with stimulation, direction, encouragement and love in a warm, secure, and nurturing environment.

The character of the Center has been shaped by the core of staff members who have worked together for many years. The director, Ione Nauseda, taught at the Center for nine years before becoming director in 1988. Five of the teachers have worked at the Center for over five years. In each class, the teachers encourage the development of appropriate skills through songs, stories, games, free play, and other activities. In the pre-kindergarten classes, the program of cognitive learning follows a more structured curriculum, suited to the more advanced abilities of the children.

Being a parent is a wonderful, demanding and sometimes difficult job. Weston Wing is committed to providing support and encouragement to parents as they deal with the daily challenges and demands of raising their children.
